Looking for 5 lucky youngsters!

There's a wonderful opportunity for five lucky youngsters as there is funding available from The Barnstaple Davey Trust and a very generous Plough Supporter donation to offer five children and young people the opportunity to attend either The Plough Youth Theatre in Torrington or the new for Sept 17 Plough Youth Theatre @ St Anne's in Barnstaple completely free for a year!

These spaces are available from the new term starting on the 16th Sept! Two spaces are left for PYT Torrington and three are left for PYT @ St Anne's.

These spaces are specifically for children and youngsters from families from disadvantaged backgrounds who would not be able to afford the term fees otherwise. I am contacting you specifically because of the wonderful work you do with the little ones, the youth and their families - please also forward this on to other relevant parties. Info about the St Anne's Opportunity is here and info about the Plough opportunity is here

Developing the network

The SW Youth Impact Network now has a new host, Space psm. Space is the public sector mutual established to deliver youth services in Devon. This is a great opportunity to bring youth sector organisations from across the South West together to explore impact and positive outcomes for young people. The meetings will still move around the region

As a starting point to help them make sure they are covering relevant topics, and supporting the sector in the most appropriate ways, they've created a short survey which we’d really appreciate you completing on behalf of your organisation. They hope to be able to analyse the findings and discuss them with you on 18th October, so please click on the link below to access the survey, if possible before 10th October.

They would like the Impact Network to become more ‘action-focused’, enabling organisations to act collaboratively to enhance the impact of their work. If you have thoughts about how this could be achieved, it would be great to talk to you, either at the meeting or by phone or email.

Do you know a local project that needs funding?

For community projects, an ordinary thing can mean everything, but funding can be a problem. The Aviva Community Fund is back, offering support and funding to causes that make a real difference where you live.

All you have to do is tell us what you would do with the money and just how much of a difference it could make to the community. If you took part last year, you can submit the same project or a new one. Only the top-voted projects in each category will make it through to the Finals, so make sure you tell everyone about your project and its importance to the community.

Good luck!
