Youth Parliament – Make your Mark

Make Your Mark gives a unique opportunity to reach out to young people who go on to be opinion formers and leaders of the future. Last year, a total of 978,216 young people from every corner of the country took part in the annual Make Your Mark ballot. The ballot will decide the topics Members of the UK Youth Parliament should debate and vote on in 2018. The debate will take place in November 2017 within the House of Commons. The impact of child sexual abuse on young males

Following the recent tragic death of Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, our CSE Adviser Will explores whether there is a stigma still attached to young male victims of sexual abuse and subsequent mental health impact that is preventing them from coming forward. He discusses the issues around the many presenting behaviours of young males that may not always be seen by professionals as signs of abuse.

He explores how Chester's death demonstrates the long ranging impact of childhood abuse into adulthood and the importance of early intervention. Read on
