Description: Part time (8-12 hours/week, over two or three weekday evening sessions)

Range of £10.35-12/hour depending upon qualifications and experience (pay increase pending), plus holiday pay and on-going training and development

The Bank Youth Project is a centre for young people age 9-19 who live in and around Ashburton in South Devon. Youth Support Workers work as part of a team to lead or assist in a variety of activities and in mentoring and supporting young people, including non-judgemental and confidential information and guidance on such topics as sexual and mental health, drugs and alcohol, bullying, etc.

Our mission is to empower and support young people to improve their life opportunities by helping them grow both as individuals and as members of the community. We are looking for people with some experience of working with children and young people and an interest in their social, emotional and mental wellbeing. 

Safeguarding and first aid certificates desirable, as is sexual health training, but training will be offered to successful applicant. Activities at the centre are varied, including cooking, games, arts and crafts, discussions and debates, etc. depending on interests of members and the youth work team. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.
