We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Work Manager (Trainee dependent on experience) to work alongside youth workers from our charity to access community spaces where young people spend their time.

About the job

Location: North Devon (Based at Bideford or Barnstaple)

Employment type: Fixed Term Contract for 2 years

Hours of work: 37 hours per week (3 evenings and occasional weekend work)

Positions available: 1

Salary: AY 1-18 to 19 - unqualified (£33,946 - £34,745); or AY 1-18 - 21 - qualified (£33,946 - £36,447) - dependant on experience

We are seeking a youth work manager to support our North Devon Team. We have the opportunity to either recruit an experienced youth work manager, a youth work practitioner looking to step into management or a manager of services for young people who want to transfer their skills into the youth work field. 

The post holder will be supported by a senior youth work manager and dependent on experience, a bespoke internal and external training package will be provided.

If you are a great communicator who likes a challenge, enjoys working with teenagers and is committed to supporting others, then this could be an amazing opportunity for you. The post is for two years in the first instance. There is the potential for the post to become permanent in the future.

You must be passionate about providing young people with somewhere to go, someone to talk to and something to do. We have two youth centres to manage in North Devon (Bideford and Barnstaple) and outreach to other communities as and when the need arises.

This is a vibrant job that will suit those who like variety, can multitask daily and work the hours and places where young people and their youth workers need their manager to be. The post includes working on average 3 evenings a week and some weekends. You will require your own transport in order to meet the requirements of the post.

Although you will be well supported, you must be organised, self driven, resourceful, solution focused, collaborative, empathetic and caring.
