Purpose of Job
To work collaboratively to ensure that LGBTQ+ young people, aged 11-18, have opportunities
to engage in meaningful activities that seek to build their confidence, give them a voice,
raise their aspirations, and enable them to recognise their own worth and value.

Key Responsibilities
To contribute to the design and delivery of personal & social educational programmes and
projects that inspire LGBTQ+ young people, capture their interests and meet their needs.
To be self-motivating and willing to try new things. A collaborative team member who puts
forward ideas and values everyone's contribution.

It is an essential part of this post (and any other Proud2Be role) that you be fiercely
committed to the freedom of all LGBTQ+ people, particularly those who face increased
discrimination from both inside and outside of the communit, including but not limited to
trans and/or non binary people, bi people, older people, disabled people, travellers, asylum
seekers & refugees, sex workers and POC.

Core Tasks
1. Work directly with young people to develop their personal, social and education
development by providing programmes of activities and services. This will include
ensuring that young people have an opportunity to influence the planning, delivery
and evaluation of services

2. Support the delivery of peer and 121 support during daytime, evenings; and
weekends when required

3. Contribute to the planning of a fun and educational curriculum that engages, inspires
and challenges young people

4. Recognise and celebrate young people's achievements, learning and successes

5. Undertake tasks as requested and adhere to financial regulations and recording and
reporting procedures

6. Be a team player who is prepared to share ideas, have a go at new things and have
fun

7. Keep self and others safe by working to Proud2Be health and safety and safeguarding procedures

8. Attend regular supervision and appraisal sessions, team meetings and youth work
training programmes in accordance with the level of the post

9. Promote youth group and other services during local school assemblies
