Description :

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for championing the VOYC Devon and Youth Work Devon brands, raising awareness of their work through marketing activity, brand development, working with member organisation’s and digital media.

You will be responsible for the delivery of communications to VOYC members, Youth Work in Devon stakeholders and other interested parties through social media, the production of two monthly e-newsletters and a weekly email bulletin when required . In addition, you will work with the Operations Coordinator and CEO to keep the Youth Work in Devon and VOYC websites updated with news, opportunities, events and engaging, original content.

THE KEY TASKS ARE TO:

  • Enable stakeholders within Devon’s not for profit, children and young people’s sector to access to relevant information, guidance, advice and resources via our social media platforms, website and written communications, through the Youth Work in Devon and VOYC brands;
  • Increase the engagement of the VOYC membership through social media to build an online community of practice and provide them with interesting content which is original and serves a purpose;
  • Utilise the website and social media platforms to build the profile of Youth Work in Devon to advocate around the needs and interests of the youth work sector;
  • Track engagement with VOYC and Youth Work in Devon communications and media streams to identify the strategies that are working well and areas that need improvement.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

Experience

  • Proven experience of social media management, corporate communications, marketing or related fields.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication proficiency
  • Experience of website management.

Skills

  • Ability to use a range of content management systems, web analytics tools and digital marketing methods.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools like Hootsuite, Tweetdeck and Google Workspace
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders including VOYC members, commissioners and policy makers.

Qualifications

  • English and Maths GCSE pass or equivalent.

Desirable

Experience

  • Some work or knowledge of working within the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise sector or wider children and young people’s sector
  • Experience of tracking and monitoring engagement through social media platforms.
  • Working with traditional media e.g. press.

Skills

  • Ability to write clear and engaging press releases for a variety of media.
  • Understanding of the roles that infrastructure support organisations can play in supporting VCSE organisations.
  • Understanding of social isolation and other issues facing young people in areas like Devon.

Qualifications

  • Any relevant marketing or technical qualifications.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months
Part-time hours: 12 per week
