The Devon Children and Families Partnership (DCFP) was an early adopter of Working Together 2018 and has developed and nurtured a large and significant network of expertise and connectivity across Devon. Working together to deliver the right support, in the right place at the right time to safeguarding children alongside their families and communities. 

We are seeking a Partnership Manager, to support the progress of our partnership work.

This is an exciting period of change in Devon, as we plan an improved way of working together across agencies to deliver better outcomes for children growing up in Devon. This is bringing a cultural shift, for everyone to work together early using a restorative approach, supporting families build resilience and independence.  

We are looking for someone who is a champion for children, committed and creative in finding ways that everyone can work better together to keep children developing healthy and safe.

Someone able to offer challenge and support across the Partners in bringing about change that delivers on the vision to make Devon a great place for children to grow up.

Someone who listens to children and young people and puts them at the heart of what we do, to analyse and respond to need and achieve better outcomes, by understanding lived experiences and lessons from practice reviews to strengthen families and safeguard and promote children’s welfare.   

The role will be responsible for managing the multi-agency work of the Devon Children and Families Partnership (DCFP) ensuring that the Partnership operates effectively and meets the statutory duties outlined in Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018) including:

  • Arrangements are developed to support and enable local organisations and agencies to work together.
  • Processes are developed that ensure effective working between safeguarding partners, other local organisations and agencies.
  • Arrangements are in place to link other strategic partnership work happening locally to support children and families.
  • Facilitating the Partnership work to reach the objective of improving outcomes for children in Devon.
  • Driving forward the continuous development, in particular the implementation of local safeguarding arrangements outlined in Working Together 2018, ensuring that locally determined priorities for child protection, safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children are implemented consistently throughout Devon by all agencies.

You will represent the views of the Partnership members towards increasing safeguarding and wellbeing together for children, displaying a high degree of articulacy and advanced communication skills.

You will champion the voice of children, young people and their families across the partnership and beyond. Providing advice, programme manage the changes to systems, policies and practices across the DCFP to ensure that services for children continually improve, learning from Audit, lessons from reviews and statutory & inspection requirements.

You will lead the DCFP Team in supporting partners to fulfil their statutory duties.

An individual Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant discipline, with substantial management experience and operational understanding of multi- agency child safeguarding.  And additional experience of working in an advisory capacity with senior leaders. The ability to remain up to date and to interpret and implement legislation, procedures and good practice guidelines.

Someone who understands and is committed to the principles of keeping children safe and promoting their welfare through outstanding partnership working. Passionate about continuous improvement of multi-agency working, ensuring that the voices of children and their families are embedded in service design and delivery.
