Salary: £33,063 to £38,574 dependent on experience

Hours: 22.5 to 30 hours per week

Holiday: 25 days rising incrementally to 30 days after five years, plus all bank holidays.

Contract: Permanent

The Fundraising Manager is an exciting new role to lead and develop First Light’s fundraising programme. You will manage on a day-to-day basis the Trusts and Grants programme and support the Senior Management Team with commissioning. You will set and drive Fundraising strategies, supervising the Corporate & Community Fundraiser to grow First Light’s income and supporter engagement across multiple fundraising streams. You will be part of the Development Team led by the Head of Income Generation & Communications including a Communications Officer and external Training Officer (earned income).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the development and implementation of First Light’s fundraising strategy, setting clear KPI’s to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Lead the team in identifying prospective donors/supporters and implement solicitation strategies to secure support
  • Ensure that all grants and donations are acknowledged, recorded and thanked in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Utilise First Light fundraising database Beacon Pro and systems to streamline administration. Working with the Finance Manager to maintain an “audit trail” that tracks all funds raised and Gift Aid from initial receipt through to final destination.
  • Develop First Light’s stewardship to ensure donors, supporters and partners feel valued and aware of their impact
  • Provide line management to the Community & Corporate Fundraiser ensuring they are enabled and equipped to meet requirements of their individual work plan and the fundraising strategy.
  • Overall responsibility for managing First Light’s trusts and grants income stream ensuring that opportunities are maximized
  • Produce high quality, timely, impactful applications and reports to funders and other stakeholders
  • Build relationships with existing First Light funders, making tailored requests for ongoing support and reporting on any previous donations.
  • Research prospective funders and build a pipeline of potential approaches, building new relationships and securing new funding for the charity.
  • Support the Senior Management Team with commissioning, checking and proof-reading tenders.

Essential Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and similar IT software and their applications
  • Ability to travel between First Light sites in Wiltshire, Plymouth and Cornwall
