Description :

Are you brilliant at shaping engaging, fun, interactive learning experiences for young
people?

Are you passionate about supporting those who have experienced social, emotional or
educational difficulties in the face of trauma and adversity while growing up?

If the answer’s a resounding YES, we’d love to hear from you.

The Life Chance Trust is a new youth charity, founded, hosted and supported by the award-
winning therapeutic School for Inspiring Talents, based in Newton Abbot and Ashburton,
South Devon.

Through a blend of mentoring and coaching, wellbeing and life skills support, practical
help and advocacy, we’re working to build young people’s confidence, resilience,
motivation, skills and networks, so they can look forward to the happy, healthy, safe and
independent adult lives they deserve.

You can read more, and watch our introductory video, at www.lifechancetrust.org.uk.
We’re now looking to extend our virtual team across South Devon, to include experienced
youth facilitators who can co-design and deliver high-quality life skills, teambuilding and
other activities to support post-16 transitions to life beyond school.

You’d be working independently to fulfil various project briefs, liaising with our small staff
team and with our Every Chance Youth Champions, as co-facilitator of small cohorts of
trauma-experienced young people aged 16-25. We’re therefore looking for individuals who
have all of the following:

- Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills to ‘meet young people where they are’
emotionally, and build rapport fast

- At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with young people with a range of
needs in small group settings

- A youth work, teaching or other relevant qualification

- Familiarity with session design, planning and delivery for young people

- An appreciation of how to empower others through participation, co-production and
enabling leadership

Location: Newton Abbot, Ashburton and surrounding areas

Remuneration: £20/hour, plus travel expenses where applicable.

Please note this is a freelance contract with variable hours, and not an employed post. It’s suitable for existing
youth workers, or those working in education settings, with capacity to take on separate project work. Sessions
will be scheduled late afternoon so being able to work in the day is essential. You will work alongside our other
Youth Facilitator who works after school hours.

Please email your CV or profile to trust@lifechance.org.uk with ‘Freelance opportunity’ in the
