Support Youth Worker

Hours: 3 hours Tuesday evenings, 6pm-9pm, 2.5 hours Thursday evenings, 6pm-8:30pm

Location: Honiton Youth Club, CUB, School Lane, Honiton

Pay: £11.50/hour

We're looking for a fun and dynamic person to join our youth club sessions as a paid, part-time Support Worker. You'll be supporting the Lead Youth Worker on Tuesday and Thursday evenings to support and engage the young people and children of Honiton.

Experience with young people is highly desired, qualifications are not essential.

Core tasks:

1. To engage with young people in youth club sessions (3 hours Tuesday evenings and 2.5 hours Thursday evenings)

2. To support the lead worker with planning and delivering sessions, actively encourage young people to participate in the planning, listen to and involve their feedback)

3. To be accountable to yourself, young people, and the wider community.

Desirable Skills:

  • Good communication
  • Creative and Dynamic
  • Ability to form professional relationships with young people and the wider community
  • A good understanding of professional boundaries and how to manage these relationships
  • Proactive and ready to support Lead Worker
  • Experience of working with children or young people
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and situations

Personal qualities:

  • Enthusiastic
  • Patience, empathy, understanding and non-judgemental
