Participation Worker

An opportunity has arisen to join this small but busy team to cover maternity leave for nine months, with the possibility of an extension. The Participation Team works to ensure children and young people have a say on the services they receive and promote their rights and entitlements. We are looking for a creative and resilient individual with a can do attitude who is experienced in working with young people to promote their involvement and inclusion.

Key duties would include:
- Facilitating the delivery of Youth Parliament;
- Facilitating the delivery of the Children in Care Council;
- Leading and devising programmes of activity for social groups for children in care and care leavers;
- Supporting vulnerable young people to engage in the development of strategy and policy and participate in the work of the council and partner agencies.

You will need to be flexible, able to work evenings and weekends and occasionally support residential work with overnight stays.
