We have an exciting opportunity for a Community and Youth Development Officer to work alongside youth workers from our charity to access community spaces where young people spend their time.

Location: North Devon - office access Bideford (some working from home) - project area Ilfracombe

Employment type: Fixed Term Contract for 6 months

Hours of work: Flexi - 14 to 18 hours per week

Salary: (£22,000 - £24,000 FTE)

If you are a great communicator who likes to make a difference then this part time, short term project may be what you are looking for. We are seeking a Community and Youth Development worker to help us systematically consult and connect with the residents of Ilfracombe. This commissioned work is an excellent opportunity to look at what provision and young people’s opportunities exist, what future models of delivering services have potential and who can help make things happen.

You will be supported in the mapping and profiling of the local area. Your role is to get to know the local community, business and agencies. Find out from young people, families, professionals and key stakeholders how working together, we can make Ilfracombe an exciting and welcoming community for teenagers.

You will work alongside youth workers from our charity to access community spaces where young people spend their time. You will hear and compile the opinions of others in this needs-led, participation role. Working in close partnership with our funding coordinator you will identify investment and sustainable future options. Although you will be well supported, you must be organised, self driven and resourceful.

  • Ability to multitask, set priorities and reachout when you need help and support
