Are you inspired by young people? Do you love a challenge?

We have an exciting opportunity for two successful candidates to support young people in youth centres and in their local communities. These are new posts to help with demand of young people seeking 1:1 and group work support from youth workers. Also, to build on our excellent record of helping young people ‘give back’. Supporting community and social action projects, the post holders will codesign with young people fundraising and social action activity. You will need to work one Saturday a month and be in our youth centres working alongside young people two evenings a week.

Location: 2 posts - 1 in Tiverton and 1 in Totnes

Employment type: Full time, Permanent

Hours of work: 37 hours per week (2 evenings per week - occasionally 3 evenings)

Salary: JNC: unqualified scale pt 9 - 10, qualified scale pt 10 - 13 (actual salary: £21,814.00 - £25,756.00)

  • Experienced youth worker or confident that you have the transferable skills required for the demands of the post

  • Passion for supporting and advocating for the rights of young people

  • Creativity and solution focused thinking

  • Respectful with excellent empathy and kindness

  • Ability to multitask, set priorities and reach out when you need help and support

  • High commitment to continuous professional practice

  • A reflective practitioner
