We have an exciting opportunity for a social action youth worker. Supporting young people to create projects and volunteer in local youth centres and communities.

About the job

Employment type: Permanent

Hours of work: 20 - 25 hours per week (negotiable) minimum of 2 evenings a week and one Saturday per month

Positions available: 1

Salary: £23,739.00 - £27,681.00 FTE (JNC: unqualified scale pt 9 - 10, qualified scale pt 10 - 13)

What is the role

  • Work with our South Devon teams to deliver high quality youth work in centres 

  • Work with our Social Action team to design and deliver centre and community based young volunteering, including fundraising initiatives 

  • Ensure that all work has robust evaluation, demonstrating the outcomes and impact of interventions

  • Recognise, reward and celebrate young people's achievements, learning and successes. From the smallest first step, to reaching their goals and having the self belief to expand their aspirations

  • Work with the community, professionals and practitioners, demonstrating respect and understanding of differing agendas, disciplines, specialisms and roles

  •  Work at times that are conducive to the time tables and programmes - including daytimes, evenings and weekends where required

  • Support and partner with young and adult volunteers

  • You have your own transport and are happy to work in a variety of locations and settings
