We have an amazing opportunity for a skilled youth worker to continue the ongoing success of our Youth Work delivery at Tiverton-Youth Centre. Tiverton youth clubs are a busy and dynamic environment. You will be working with an experienced team who have great connections with the local community and services.

About the job

Location: This is a county wide role - eight centres across the county. Some home working. Base will be dependent on the successful candidate.

Employment type: Permanent

Hours of work: 37 Hours per week - including some evenings and a minimum of one Saturday per month

Positions available: One

Salary: £22,000 - £24,000 FTE

What is the role

We are looking for a thoughtful and proactive individual to join our small but passionate Social Action team at Space Youth Services to help support our vision of “Unlocking Potential with Youth People”. 

  • Driving the delivery and development of our volunteer programme across our Devon wide youth centres and fundraising events, supporting young and adult Volunteers across a range of roles. This is an exciting and growing role within Space, and we welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds and experience levels, however experience of volunteering would be advantageous. You do not need to have a background in youth work to apply for this role

  • This role will work closely with the Social Action Team, Director of Youth Work, Head of Fundraising and Marketing and the wider Space Team to support and embed volunteers across the organisation

  • Recruitment, coordination, organisation and coaching of volunteers 

  • Collaborating with all areas of the organisation, identifying volunteering opportunities and requirements

  • Keeping clear and accurate volunteer records and systems

About You:  

  • You are collaborative. You work well with groups and individuals from inside and outside the organisation to accomplish tasks. You work to include all relevant parties in tasks to ensure all factors are considered and every voice is heard

  • You have administrative experience. You have a variety of general administrative and technical experience as well as specific experience of data sets and collation, management of systems, high level IT including presentation preparation, organisational policies and systems.

  • You are a superb communicator. You can use a variety of methods of communication to keep groups and individuals informed and hear concerns. You are equally comfortable participating in online and in-person meetings.  You can prepare monitoring information on a regular basis, holding yourself and others to account.

  • You have relevant experience. You have experience of volunteering and supporting others.

  • You like variety. You have your own transport, and can visit volunteers in a wide variety of venues and communities.

  • You are flexible. You are willing to work at times that suit volunteers, this will include evenings and some weekend work.
