We are recruiting for a new team of Youth Project Assessors (8 positions available).

Contract:         Part-Time 1-Year fixed term contract (possibility this could be extended)

Hours:             26 hours per month 

Salary:             £11.35 per hour 

Location:         Home based/Remote working - This role requires occasional travel across England

About the Role

The purpose of the Youth Project Assessors role is to work with the Youth Investment Fund team at the NYA to conduct development plans with successful applicants of the Youth Investment Fund. 

This will include meeting online or in person with young people and youth workers from successful projects to ensure the best youth work practice is being delivered. 

To do this, you will work as part of a team to complete development plans with the organisation and assess their practice on, Youth participation, safeguarding (including accessibility) and youth work practice.

You will work with successful organisations in improving their practice through visits, webinars and regular online meetings. These assessments will contribute to a final statement which shows evidence that the organisation is working to meet the National Youth Agency Quality Standards. 

Essential Requirements

 Applicants must be aged between 16 and 24 years old and live in a Youth Investment Fund eligible area to meet the funder’s requirements.

  • Applicants must have a good level of ICT, Communication, teamwork and writing skills.  

This means:

 ICT: You are able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook (for emails) and video calling software like Microsoft Teams and Zoom. 

 Writing skills: You can write in English (perfect spelling doesn’t always matter as we can use spell check on computers). 

 Communication/ Team working skills: You must be able to work well with and be respectful of others as you will be working as part of a team for most of the time. You must be able to communicate your ideas and opinions clearly to different people. We will provide any reasonable adjustments required for you to communicate effectively with the team.

  • Applicants must have some kind of youth work experience, this means working, volunteering or attending a youth club/project. 

Desirable

It would be great if we could get applicants who are interested in Youth Work and would like to start a career working with young people however this is not essential.
